Music as an Argument

"Stand By Me"

Invention

The director of the music video "Stand By Me", found many musicians, street performers, from around the world to be featured in the video. The director needed to find a way to travel, fund his traveling, in order to find these people. He also needed to manage the funds being spent on equipment, traveling, and where they would be staying, of course.

Disposition

The video was based on the belief that music is a universal language and that many people can relate to and play a certain song despite the language difference. The video was shot all over the world, but it started in California and ended in California.

Style

The director believes that music has the ability to bring people together. I believe he used this song to infer that there is no set boundary on who a person can love and spread love globally. He chose a popular song and genre. The musicians were usually in public settings, some of which were on sidewalks and at places that the musicians felt comfortable performing.

Memory

The director used people in casual places, displayed connections between people, and also labeled the place in which they were, to depict love, peace, and unity.

Delivery

Music Viedo.
The director used musicians who were passionate about the song and their lyrics.
